Lecture by Nola Reed Knouse, Moravian Music Foundation

“GemeinKat – the Moravian Music Foundation’s online catalog conversion project – has enabled us to make many fascinating connections and discoveries, including finding the right “home” for a previously-unidentified viola part; putting the right composer’s name with the right piece; and linking musicians, locations, and musical works in ways new to us. Through the painstaking detective work of our catalog project staff, and the rich resources that are now available online (which were not available during the Foundation’s initial cataloging in the 1960s), new re-discoveries and re-connections are being made daily. Dr. Knouse will describe some of these and give an update on the project and its importance to the scholarly and musical world.”
