This act granted the Moravians unusual privileges to operate schools\, churches\, and missions in the British Empire\, and Count Zinzendorf planned to make London the headquarters of the global Moravian network. But soon Zinzendorf was embroiled in controversy stemming from the Sifting Time and a financial scandal. He was a gifted artist who   carefully documented his surroundings in numerous watercolors. In 1883 he suddenly moved to Canajoharie\, New York. Until his retirement in 1898 he taught art at the Canajoharie Academy. During these years he continued his artistic work until his death in 1900.
