Bethlehem Diary now fully digitized

Posted December 3, 2018 in Digital Access

56 volumes of the Bethlehem Diary have been digitized and are now accessible through our online finding aid. The volumes cover the years 1742-1940. Up to 1865, this communal diary of the Moravian congregation at Bethlehem was kept in German; in November 1865 the language changed to English.

You will find the online finding aid in the Research Our Holdings section on our website.  In the navigation tree on the left-hand side, choose “04. Congregations,” “04.15 Pennsylvania”, “04.15.01 Bethlehem.” You will find the diaries for the period 1742-1849 in the record group BethCong (Bethlehem Congregation, 1742-1851); later diaries you will find in BethCongUB (Congregation of the United Brethren of the Bethlehem and Vicinity).
