This year it is 300 years ago that Henriette Louise von Hayn was born in Idstein, Germany. She is the author of the well-known Moravian hymn “Jesus Makes My Heart Rejoice” (“Weil ich Jesu Schäflein bin”). A recent find sheds new light on the origins of this popular hymn that has been translated into many languages. In this presentation, you will learn more about von Hayn, the hymn, and its unexpected origins.
