The Moravian Archives is thrilled to be hosting 4 interns this spring semester!
MAB always enjoys having interns at our institution. They challenge the staff to think differently about our day-to-day and provide us with the opportunity to (hopefully) have an impact on the next generation of Gallery, Library, Archives, and Museum (GLAM) professionals. This year, interns are helping us chip away at our backlog of unprocessed personal papers, PEC correspondence, and assist in weeding our library collection.
Learn more about this year’s spring 2024 cohort of students and keep a look out for additional blog posts where the interns will highlight their projects and time at the MAB.

Name: Jenna Lenko
School Affiliation: Moravian University, Class of 2025
What is your favorite time period or historical event? My favorite time period would probably be the American Civil War. I have always enjoyed learning about the war and the events leading up to it and about President Lincoln. I think that is why I chose “Moravians in the American Civil War” as my Honors Project topic. I feel that being able to learn the history of the Moravian people and how they played a role during this event is something that I am really interested in and passionate about.
What do you hope to gain from this internship? From this internship, I hope to learn about everything that goes into preserving history. Not only is this something I am interested in, but I feel it will help me a lot when continuing on in my study of history.
Place you hope to visit one day? One place I hope to visit someday is probably the Antietam National Battlefield.
Name: Jessica Schwindenhammer
School affiliation: PennWest Clarion, 2024
Favorite time period or event: The Middle Ages
What do you hope to gain from your internship at MAB? I hope to gain the proper hands-on experience that I have been missing from my education program. Learning about concepts and theories is one thing, but it is so much more beneficial to be able to touch the documents and fully understand what is being asked of me in the field of archival studies.
Place you hope to visit one day? Italy
Name: Fatimah Bouri
School affiliation: Moravian University, class of 2026
What is your favorite time period or event? The Renaissance
What do you hope to gain from your internship at MAB? I hope to learn more about library sciences and what it means to be an archivist.
Place you hope to visit one day? I hope to visit Japan one day; I really admire the culture and would love to go to a Japanese Gion festival!
