The Board of Directors approved a new mission statement for the Moravian Archives during their meeting on December 10, 2018. This concludes a process of revisiting the previous mission statement that was considered insufficient during a Board retreat in November of 2017. The new mission statement gives a fuller understanding of the variety of activities of the Moravian Archives:

“The Moravian Archives collects and preserves records and historical materials of Moravians in North America and makes them available to the public. It is the official repository of the records of the Moravian Church in America, Northern Province. The Archives fulfills its mission through archival processing, research services, education, publications, and public programming.”
